Richard Nixon - 1969-1974
-Nixon begins withdrawing troops from Vietnam in 1969
-Woodstock occurs during the Nixon administration
-The Nixon Shock of 1971 places a 90 day freeze on wages and prices, eliminates the ability to exchange the dollar for gold, and places a tax of 10% on all imports
-the ERA is passed in 1972
-Nixon is reelected in 1972, despite the reports of a break-in at the Watergate Hotel
-Spiro Agnew resigns the Vice-Presidency due to allegations of widespread corruption, bribery, and tax evasion
-Now connected to Watergate, Nixon resigns in that same year, being replaced by the new Vice-President Gerald Ford
