Women's Suffrage
"The rights of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."
Amendment nineteen expanded on the fifteenth to include females in the list of population that cannot have its voting rights taken away. This amendment was passed because of considerable female activism during and following World War I, the first war where women legally served in the military.
